18th Century Reenactment Event
Fort Halifax in Winslow and Fort Western in Augusta will be conducting an 18th Century Reenactment event.  On June 12th and 13th the reenactors will be at Fort Halifax.  On June 12th, Reenactors from the James Howard’s Company, the Samuel Goodwin’s Company and the Pequawket Alliance will setup camp at Fort Halifax and will portray life as it would have been in the 18th Century.  These reenactors are comprised of a group of living historians who strive to accurately recreate the lives and adventures of the men and women who secured the frontier here in Maine during the years 1745-1763.

On the morning of June 13th,  the Howard’s Company will reenact a skirmish that occurred at Fort Halifax when the fort was being resupplied by a militia from Fort Western, who were attacked while in their 30’ Bateau.

Also on June 13th, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Castlebay, a musical duo, will perform at Fort Halifax Park.  They will treat the audience to a musical journey through the 18th century.
On June 14th, the reenactors will travel to Fort Western in Augusta where they will complete the 3 day reenactment event.

Please come join us for this three day family event.  Visitors of all ages will enjoy learning what life was like at Fort Halifax during the 18th Century.  Watch the militia as they prepare for their day and then must defend themselves when they are attacked.

Food and refreshments will be sold at the park.
