Rocket Fuel and Neverland Treasure Hunt

Join us as we welcome Colby science students for an exciting afternoon of activities!

Juvenal Lopez, one of seven CH151 students during Colby Jan Plan has designed an experiment that tests different combinations of household ingredients for the distance traveled in the fastest amount of time. Participants will learn how to launch film canister rockets, record time and distances, and calculate the average rocket speed, then determine the best rocket fuel. We will probably do the launching outside.

There will be a second activity for those who want to stay inside called Neverland Treasure Hunt and involves solving clues using measurement, invisible ink, decoding, and aerodynamics.  This one will be presented by Georganna Benedetto.

 Aimed at grades 2-6.
