Hour of Code for Kids

Hour of Code for Kids
December 5-11 is National Computer Science week and we are celebrating by participating in a national Hour of Code.

According to stats taken from code.org there are currently 949 open computing jobs within Maine and only 96 CS graduates! Maine provides no dedicated state funding for computer science professional development nor requires high schools to offer computer science to its students. We can CHANGE that.

Students in grades 2 and up are encouraged to stop by the library after school to find out more about coding. There will be coding games, as well as chances to play with a robot you can code. If a parent would like to stop by with their child to also learn about coding, we would love to have you!
